Welcome to the Witch Trial Trail, Salem's oldest walking tour and a mainstay of Haunted Happenings since 1983. This popular one hour outdoor candlelit tour, led by well-known historian and author Jim McAllister, explores the sites and story of the 1692 witch trials, Salem's darkest hour. The Witch Trial Trail departs at 7 p.m. from the Old Town Hall on Front Street on the dates listed below.

Jim McAllister's "THE TERROR TRAIL " Walking Tour
This spooky tour features tales of local murders, spectral assaults, and haunted houses. The one-hour and twenty minute candlelit walk, developed by Witch Trial Trail creator Jim McAllister, includes the stories of "Crayon Boy," the "Sheriff", and other alleged haunters of local buildings; the eerie saga of the phantom crew of the fishing schooner Andrew Johnson; and a number of bizarre episodes related to the Salem Witch Trials. Patrons will also hear the story- and learn the "story behind the story" of a famous local murder.
